The Young God Chasers – A Children’s Church Experience
A 13 week curriculum designed for children ages 5-11
By Dian Layton

Based on The God Chasers by Tommy Tenney

Released in the last year, The Young God Chasers is not a typical curriculum! The publishers highly recommend that you read Tommy Tenney’s best-seller, The God Chasers, and allow the Lord to settle the priciples in your heart before you use the curriculum. Then pray He will instill them in the hearts He has called you to minister to. Also, every person in any role of children’s ministry leadership must be Chasing God!

This curriculum is a powerful set of lessons and activities. Every lesson, every story, every song is based upon Kingdom Principles and is designed to lead children into a dynamic relationship with the King Himself, Jesus Christ. The heart of every experience outline is that the children will indeed become God Chasers – that they will hunger and thirst for more of Him in their lives. In the process, they will learn Bible stories from some very unique perspectives and dozens of memory verses, Hugga-Wugga style! Dian’s refreshing approach brings life both to the children and to those who teach them.

Currently there are three thirteen-week sessions in print and the fourth is due to be published this year. The first is titled Seeking the King- Children can KNOW, not just hear ABOUT Him!. Many children who attend church live in the kingdom, but don’t know the King. A God Chaser is a SEEKER! The first set of lessons is designed so that children really get to know (not just know about) King Jesus.

The second set, The King and His Kingdom- Children are AMBASSADORS of the King! teaches children how they can be a part of His little army and have a powerful impact on the world around them. Children who experience these materials have a real understanding of what it means to be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. They will know how to share the gospel, to walk fearlessly with their Lord, believing He will answer their prayers. They will learn the power of holy living, humbly listening and ministering in the anointing of God.

Set three, Seeker’s Sources of Power- The Power of giving your life to Jesus helps children learn that the true source of power is being emptied of self and filled up with Jesus. Through this curriculum children learn the power available to them and then released through them-the power in what Jesus did on the cross, the power that comes as we give our lives to Jesus, the power of giving to other people, the power of the Bible, the power children have over the enemy and the power of making wise decisions and good choices.

Testimonies of people who have used this curriculum over the last year confirm the fact that it is life changing – for the children, the people who work with them, parents and beyond. Papa-God is touching His children and He is real and a part of their lives. Church has become real and fun for both the children and those who work with them. Lives are being impacted for eternity! If you’re looking for a curriculum that goes beyond “head knowledge” and brings children into a real relationship with Jesus, check this one out.
